myInvolvement collects personal information on behalf of SFU under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RSBC 1996, c.165). The personal information collected includes student name, student ID number, student SFU email address, student phone number, student home address, gender, academic faculty and program, appointments booked, and information about co-curricular participation such as programs completed, applications made, interviews held, and positions viewed.
This information is related directly to and needed by the University in order to support and promote student engagement in on-campus activities and job opportunities. The information will be used for on-campus job recruitment, appointment booking, and recognition for co-curricular participation. Program supervisors only receive information directly submitted in student applications. myInvolvement administrators access student information only for the purpose of updating or correcting student profile information. Anonymized, aggregated, and summarized reports may be disclosed internally within the University to inform how to better enhance the student experience at SFU and promote campus involvement.
